Hello, Eva. Sorry for the delay in response.

The easiest solution is to use our Table Browser. If you are unfamiliar
with the Table Browser, please check out the User's Guide at
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTablesHelp.html.

To obtain a list, follow these steps:

1. From http://genome.ucsc.edu, click "Tables" in the blue navigation bar at
the top of the screen.

2. Set the following: (let's assume you're interested in the latest human
assembly)
Clade: Mammal
Genome: Human
Assembly: Feb. 2009 (GRCh37/hg19)
Group: Genes and Gene Prediction Tracks
Track: For this example, we'll use UCSC Genes. You can read more about
which gene track is most appropriate for you by reading their description
pages - accessible by clicking on the grey bar to the left of the main
display or by clicking on the track title above the pulldown menu.
Table: knownGene
Region: Select "genome" for the entire genome. Select "position" to specify
a single chromosome or region of a chromosome. You can click the "define
regions" button to specify multiple regions or click the "paste list" or
"upload list" buttons to specify a list of RefSeq IDs.
Output format: Selected fields from primary and related tables Output file:
Leave blank to see your output on the screen or specify a file name.

3. Click the "get output" button

4. Select the fields you are interested in.

5. Click the "get output" button to obtain your results.

You can experiment to find the set of options that works best for you.

Please contact us again at [email protected] if you have any further
questions.

Subject: [Genome] genelist

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

is it possible to export genes of a region in form of a table / list?

Thanks,

Eva Wohlleber
