Hello, Peng.

You did not find AF191547 in the Browser because
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nucleotide/AF191547 lists this as DNA and we
only align Genbank RNA.

I also believe that part of the problem is that the instructions you
referenced at
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.science.biology.ucscgenome.general/10530
mention the lincRNA RNA-Seq Reads track, but that is a human track. The gene
you referenced is a mouse gene and the mouse genome does not have a lincRNA
RNA-Seq Reads track. The NCBI page lists this as the PARP2 locus. You can
perform a Browser search on PARP2 to identify your track of interest and
then obtain the desired information from the Table Browser by doing the
following:

1. From http://genome.ucsc.edu, click "Genomes" in the blue navigation bar
at the top of the screen.

2. Set "clade", "genome" and "assembly" to "Mammal", "Mouse" and "July 2007
(NCBI37/mm9)".

3. In the "position or search term" box, enter "PARP2" and click the
"submit" button.

4. Several results will appear on the results page along with the track name
they belong to. Identify the result you are interested in and use the track
name to obtain the corresponding information from the Table Browser.

Please contact us again at [email protected] if you have any further
questions.

Subject: [Genome] Is genes like AF191547 available in the browser?

Hi,

It seems that this gene is not available in the browser.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nucleotide/AF191547

It is a lincRNA according to.

http://www.noncode.org/NONCODERv3/browseLncRNAs.php

I am not able to follow the following instruction how to get lincRNA table.

http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.science.biology.ucscgenome.general/10530

Could anybody let me know how to get the lincRNA table? And what is the
origin if the lincRNA table and why AF191547 is not available in the
browser?
