Many thanks again. The suggestion about adding unset CFLAGS CXXFLAGS to the profile file has worked.
Gentoo prefix is being installed. Clear Linux is installing it at a rocket like pace...... I am running thermal daemon in clear linux. This seems to be helping avoid the cpu shutting down. Regards MF >
