For "glxinfo | grep direct" gives  yes.
And since I got 'Option "NoLogo" "true"' in my xorg.conf I don't see any
nVidia loggo a x startup. (I think the loggo is shown when the nvidia
module is loaded, iirc teh ebulilds for gentoo wants one to add nvidia
to the autoload - which imo is not good, I prefer having it (un)loaded
by X rather then at boot time - it might not be un/reloaded when you
restart X if you got it in the autoload (just my guessing here))
