You don't need this for pcmcia. You don't need /etc/init.d/pcmcia, either (in fact, it hurts). Maybe you should read the documentation that comes with pcmciautils. I can't look its file path up right now, just execute " equery files pcmciautils ". There should be a minihowto and more interesting, the readme.
