integration with other projects.

Not that I know of. AFAIK problems are dealt with on the basis of
"whoever sees the email AND has time to fix it." The Releng team
members in charge of minor arches generally do a pretty good job of
fixing stuff on a timely basis. Our major arches seem to break more
frequently, but receive less TLC. Again, manpower and time issues.

Beats me. Git would make that easier. From what I can see, anything
that's ever been done to Python has resulted in breakage.
