I would definately like to see something around this. It feels silly that slotted languages and its package behave almost the same, but different enough for it to be quite annoying for the end users.

Also those packagers who have to deal with language bindings towards multiple slotted languages experience quite a lot of pain because of how differently this behaviour is implemented in the various eclasses.
