So you put a python package in the dev-python category (which is almost completely managed by the python herd). Then you don't ask the python herd if they want to co-maintain it ... I'm not quite sure how your reality works, but it seems to not share much with mine. But at least you found something new to be offended about and life doesn't get too boring ...
