Thanks Mike. It worked for 2004.3.
I just checked out /experimental/ppc/embedded/stages folder on a bunch of Gentoo mirrors, and there are no 2005.0 files there. It appears that there is an alternate server for the latest and greatest tarballs that I am somehow unaware of. New stage archives are not big deal ("emerge world" should take care of that), but I am wondering if that server hosts some important documents that I should read ASAP. Would you be so kind to post that URL? Thanks in advance.
Aleksandar.

it's a bug in gcc ... i uploaded 2005.0 stages to resolve this
to work around it, export GCC_SPECS to /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-pc-linux-uclibc/3.4.1/specs and re-emerge gcc -mike
