I have three computers in a small net and mount /usr/portage over NFS,
but I mount it readonly.  The remote machines complain about it being
read only but go ahead and (seem to) work fine.  The only trick is
fetching everything from the exporting machine, which requires
variations on this command ...

    ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="xyzzy" emerge -f plugh howdy doody ...

1.  Is there any reason why this is a bad idea?

2.  Is there any reason why this wouldn't work for others?
