Hi all,
To be able to become portage a more general useable tool than just
within Gentoo Linux, it might be necessary to have it autotoolized
to say sth. like this:
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-managedroot=/my/packages --with-portageuser=haubi --with-portagegroup=tools BASH=/opt/bash/bin/bash PYTHON=/opt/sfw/python
# make
# make install
Portage-2.{1,2,5,whatever} (not released yet) is already using autotools.
Uhm, worked for nothing - but i can't google out a hint where to get cvs/svn (readonly) access to portage itself, is this undesired ?
However - i want to become portage to work on non-Gentoo Unixes too, such as HP-UX, AIX, SunOS, Cygwin and others, to manage my own, non-system packages, and i'd appreciate to have this supported by portage directly rather than in my own repository dealing with imported portage-revisions.
So - i'm willing to help in developing portage...
