Humm...isn't one of the "knocks" against Gentoo that it changes so 
fast and stuff is cutting edge and not stable?   You are looking for 
something even more cutting edge?   Maybe you could ask the developers 
for their experimental code....stuff that even they never meant to see 
the light of day. ;-)

there are a number of packages that are *not* cutting edge, "mysql", 
"gimp" came in mind, generally this happen when there are 
incompatibilities with other packages.
