this seems really simple enough, or am i overlooking something.
/me is very newbie.
I'm flat out at work so I haven't had the time to do this yet. The problem is that every 'emerge sync' will reset the ebuilds, so it's not really all that easy to flag ebuilds as you desire.
The quick hack way I'm going to try is to calculate the current ebuilds, then copy them to /usr/local/portage while changing them all to have KEYWORDS="local". Then having ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="local" should complete the trick while allowing "emerge sync" to operate normally, glsa's to come through, and later versions to be merged in as specified.
The problems with versioned eclasses, changing support files and all those other issues are deliberately being ignored because of two reasons... first is that I hope it won't be that much of a problem in practice, and second because this is the only real step that I can take forwards so I'm gonna do it. :)
