Hello, I followed these steps in an attempt to get cups working with Epson Stylus Color 880 on the parallel port.
$ emerge cups ghostscript foomatic gimp-print-cups $ foomatic-configure -s cups -p 317801 -c file:/dev/lp0 -n Epson -d gimp-print -o PageSize=A4 Then on http://127.0.0.1:631 I added a printer on /dev/lp0. Although cat test.txt > /dev/lp0 works, printing a test page from the cups administration doesn't do anything at all. I have gone by the gentoo printing guide and although it worked perfectly on my previous gentoo install this time it won't work at all. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
