I find here that the xfree open gl is marginally faster(<1%). I've
tested it's stability against the nvidia open-gl which seems to lock up
my box after about 8 hours of a GL screensaver running. After 9 hours
of such a screensaver, I got no lock up.
        System specs:AthlonXP2100+ /512 Megs ddr2700, Leadtek Mobo/nForce2
chipset and a Verto Nvidia GeForce4-TI4200 using the 4191-r1 drivers.
I have found that the 4191-r1 driver is a snap to update from the 3123
version. In my case, it amounted to emerging them and before restarting
X doing a modprobe nvidia. There are a few dependancies that come in
with the update but I find GL apps 10% faster.
