Hello,

I don't use KDE as a desktop, because I prefer a more lightweight window
manager, but I have found that recently the KDE applications (esp. the
KOffice suite) are starting to get *really* good, and I'd like to make
better use of them.

The only problem is that I am in a very firm rut of using lots of old
Unix/Emacs keybindings and I can't get used to them not working in KWord
etc.. Is there any way to make KDE let me use these bindings?

Examples of the bindings I'm referring to would be
Ctrl-D (delete)
Ctrl-A (Beginning of line)
Ctrl-E (End of line)

etc... (there's lots of them)

If I could use Emacs style cut-and-paste that would be the bees knees, but I'm prepared to give that one up (it's fairly unlike the Windows way of doing things and wouldn't just be a case of a new keybinding) provided I can get the others working The Way They Should (tm) ;).

Apologies if this is a really stupid question, but like I say I'm not a
KDE person and a quick look in the control panel doesn't seem to show
any way to change these bindings (though there are lots of others that
can be configured).

Cheers,

Andy
