I have a Dell machine with a i815 chipset:

The problem is that the IDE component doesn't seem to be correctly recognizer. From boot log:

Do you have to patch the kernel (vanilla 2.4.20) to get the ICH2 driver? If yes, where do I find it? If not, what is the configuration option that I should enable?
