Either way, you also have to specify that devfs is run automatically at boot time.
Or use: kernel /boot/bzImage ... devfs=mount
in your menu.lst

You're probably thinking, "why doesn't this guy just RTM?"...
I've been compiling and chugging along for days and when I'm this close, I'm a little impatient. After I get to a "clean boot" stage I can RTM.
400MHz is manageable, but not desireable.
