-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Some days ago i tried to emerge a package to do a tcp tunnel in a server. I knew there was a binary called redir, but I couldn't find a package with the same name. I did a grep in the portage net-misc directory and found another one wich works fine. The question that I have now is that is there a way to find a package from a file name? I mean, without having the actual package installed. The actual example may work: finding a package which would install the file /usr/bin/redir, for example. In Debian I used to do that using a file called Contents-i386.gz, which contained the name for a package and the files it had (like a big package/files-index). Thank you very much in advance, Cheers, - -- Juan Ángel PGP key on pgp.rediris.es (8FAF18B7) or search on http://www.rediris.es/cert/servicios/keyserver/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux)
