This looks like it. I can LD_PRELOAD an old libc.so.6 and vmware works - but I can only do this as root - I have found something about suid programs only being able to preload as root. Does anyone know a workaround for that?
Downgrading the glibc is something I would rather avoid at the moment. Do you have any more info about this - e.g., will it be fixed or has vmware 3 reached its useby date?
