Truly weird. There shouldn't be any way to intercept mouse commands, unless both machines are running IR mice and they interfere with each other. [If this is the case, shield them somehow and ignore the rest of this message.] So let's start determining where this is really occurring. Make sure that the IP addresses are different, and that they are correctly entered in the /etc/hosts file on the gentoo machine and in the appropriate place on the Winders machine (under drivers under windows with several layers in between). If not, fix this and try again. If they are correct, continue. On the gentoo machine open a console window and enter: ifconfig eth0 down [Assumes your ethernet connection is eth0.] Now check to see if this solved the problem. If so, then it is the ethernet.
