Wouldn't emerge -C gnome remove it, and from then on your -Up world would not (I think) try to install it? On my systems I do not have Gnome proper, but I do get certain Gnome components installed because apparently some program require them. good luck, Mark -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
