No, that doesn't work:

grub> map (hd0) (hd1)
grub> map (hd1) (hd0)
grub> unhide (hd0,0)
grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
grub> chainloader +1
grub> makeactive
grub> boot
Segmentation fault

I tried embedding it in the grub.conf as well. Any other suggestions, besides swapping my hard drives?

Perhaps try booting to a grub prompt, then do:

grub> map (hd0) (hd1)
grub> map (hd1) (hd0)
grub> unhide (hd0,0)
grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
grub> chainloader +1
grub> makeactive
grub> boot

See if that works any better?
