/etc/hosts and /etc/nsswitch.conf look good to me.  Do you have any part
of postfix chrooted?  (Look in /etc/postfix/master.cf)

If this isn't the problem, you probably want to look at the stuff on
http://www.postfix.org/rewrite.html, in particular 'append_at_myorigin'
and 'append_dot_mydomain'.
