I have the same problem. Possibly related, genkernel goes on to fail for me: x-2.4.20/include/linux/modversions.h -nostdinc -iwithprefix include -DKBUILD_BASENAME=dl2k -c -o dl2k.o dl2k.c make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.20/drivers/net' make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.20/drivers' make: *** [_mod_drivers] Error 2 I wonder if the "non-gentoo" message is because I (we?) previously built the kernel in that directory manually, and somehow that confuses genkernel.
