sorta right. Gentoo has runlevel 'defaul', which corresponds to runlevel 3. if you want a graphical login, you include the 'xdm' script in the default run level, if you don't want it, you remove it: rc-update del xdm default. the only relevant setting in rc.conf is which display manager you want to use - kdm, gdm, etc. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
