I took a look at /bin/domainname. It is a link to /bin/hostname. It opened /bin/hostname in an editor and scrolled down to the wording it looks like maybe (none) should refer to nisdomainname or ypdomainname. I'm going to try it when I reboot again and see it that resolves it without having to do the script.
