You didn't really give us a good picture of your setup. Which will help
me (us) help you further.
I.E.
Are you running a firewall on Gentoo as well. How many interfaces
(nics) do you have? What are the ip's specifically? Are dnscache and
tinydns on the same machine? Basically, paint us a nice picture so that
we don't have to guess.. :P

Tinydns and Dnscache cannot be listening on the same ip address.

I didn't like using the "dnscache-setup" and "tinydns-setup" scripts
because they didn't seem to follow along with how the how-to's are
layed out "directory wise" on djb's site.

You didn't say what ip dnscache is listening on and you didn't say what
ip tinydns is listening on?

Not sure if you needed to do that or not. Thats what I was trying to
find out from the other Gentoo users of djbdns. It seemed thats what I
needed to do though.

I think this is probably due to the fact that you used the setup
scripts which I believe are paritial to Gentoo and not djbdns because I
don't see those setup scripts talked about at all on his site.
The fact that you have 6 supervise processes seems strange. Should be 4
as far as I know with your setup.

Why did you do this and what does this have to do with setting up
djbdns?
Why would you gateway _anything_ to a "Network address" ??
I'm either confused or your confused here. We'll find out soon enough.
:P

Again. Not sure why your doing all of this stuff. And again, I've never
seen anyone ever map anything to a "Network address"

:p What were you expecting? :P

This is just a plain jane example. You need to do a little more reading
is all.

Again. You should never be mapping anything to a "Network ip address"
Network ip addy's describe/define just that. "Networks"
Host Ip addresses describe/define "Hosts/machines"

To get to www.yourdomain.com (hypothectically speaking) my machine
needs to know the "ip (host/machine/server) address" to be able to
route a connection to it.

How is anyone suppose to get to www.yourdomain.com when it resolves to
a network ip address? I will never get there. And neither will you.

In What directories did the setup scripts create tinydns and dnscache?
/var or /etc ??

Once I get a better Idea of where your coming from I will provide you
with my setup you can use as an example and hopefully that will help.
You might need to start over though. Which would take less than 10 mins
once you have a solid game plan and I have a better understanding of
your setup.

P.S. I'm glad to see you opened your own thread. Hi-jacking existing
email threads is bad list etiquette. :D
