hmmm ... I didn't know it's possible to get error messages in polish language if running bootstrap ... are u using special polish bootstrap ? If not, then u missed chroot step, aren't u ?

no, I was using bootstrap 1 from the iso I downloaded from gentoo site.
But I installed locales, and since i'm compiling gentoo in chrooted
environment on my debian machine, some of the env. variables remained -
LC_ALL also.

Usually I met similar errors just after bootstrap only if something
goes wrong with HW. I *VERY* recommend memtest86.

Well, I'll try it - but all other compiles are ok, I tried to compile all
other sources from "system", it was all right, and now I compiled xfree86,
mplayer, xmms, kernel sources.... just this one small package remained...

Any ideas?

It seems, hw of your machine is OK then.

I installed plenty of gentoo systems in chroot environment
from stage 1 and 3, (mostly from knoppix live CD, never from
debian, but it shouldn't be the issue).
I must say except of HW related problems I had only a minor
ones mostly because I forgot something (doing it by heart).

So I would recommend u to try installation of gentoo os
in chroot once again following gentoo doc step by step
(without your improvements).
It's really very strange for me what for u need polish
locales before emerging system. Do it after your gentoo
can boot alone.
