Hi there,
I just replaced a win 98 with a win xp. xp overwrote the mbr, so i had grub reinstall it.
The problem is, that I used setup (hd0,0) instead of setup (hd0), write it in the boot partition instead of the mbr. linux is running on a hdb, so there is no effect.
Is there a way to restore the winXP boot sector without reinstalling xp?
I have very good universal solution for all micro$hit systems, which will prevent such troubles forever:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hdXX
hdXX is micro$hit partition
