Sorry to sound unsympathetic, but it really clogs my mailbox when people complain about this issue. I can't see any way to resolve it, so don't want to hear about it unless you have suggestions for doing so.

Google doesn't. A couple of mailing list archivers archive the gentoo lists, and google harvests the data just like it does any other data on the web...
