some days ago, alsasound script failed for me, too, but was fine when restarted. The cause was some irq/module error, found in dmesg. Do you have some errors/warnings in your dmesg (dmesg -s 1000000)? Glück Auf, Volker -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
