wait... what? How come I've never heard about this? I am pretty sure
that WinXP comes with the dreaded disk defragmenter. Unless you are
speaking about server 2003, I don't think a "slightly reworked
version of Win 2000 with NTFS" can claim that it doesn't need
defragmenting.

I ***thought*** I heard something about one of the newer ones having some such feature -- *I* use 98SE and 98F; progs I need to make money with don't work with the newer stuff, so I haven't play with nor een particularly paid *any* attention to the newer Monoplesoft *stuff*... *And* I am lucky enough to have a (legitimate) copy of Norton 2003! ( :) ;) :) )

An' I ain't jes' all thet t'rble int'rested in handin' mo' o' mah money ovah ta Monoplesoft -- Ah's a-tryin' *ha'd* ta gits ta Lee-nooks as ma evrah-day op'ratin' sys-tem. (Yes, I'm counted a natural-born-and-bred 'southerner', so I am duly and properly authorized to use accents like that even in this P.C.-age... I sometimes *do* sound like that, too! (47 years old and utterly un-re-constructed; I was constructed just *fine* thank you very much the first time, and I ain't _Never_ had any 'birth-isms' (race,religion,&c) since at least before I was 8 years old.)) ( I wrote all this horse-hockey because I was p***ed-off at the computer and needed a time-out. I feel better now. :) Sorry for any offence or irritation or...)
