I agree largely. I wouldn't say you don't need to bother, some planning is always useful. but it does make adapting to changes of circumstance or requirements far easier. When using LVM, only set up the partition sizes you feel you will need. Leave some unallocated space on the disk if possible. It makes lfe much easier if you suddenly find a need for more space on one partition if you don't have to go shrinking other partitions first. -- Neil Bothwick Your lack of organisation does not represent an emergency in my world.
