Ever since I emerged KDE 3.4 this week the LED for my HDD's have developed a regular 2 per second flash - while the system is sitting ostensibly idle.
Can't see anything significant in the way of processes (top & ps aux), and googling produces nothing similar anywhere. When I close X, the rhythmic beat of the LED stops! Performance doesn't seem affected, but the thought of this constant churn disturbs me. Any ideas appreciated.
