I seem to have the same version of wxGTK as you:
equery -q l wxGTK
x11-libs/wxGTK-2.8.12.1-r1
To the best of my knowledge, I did not experience any trouble building
the package in question.
threadpsx.cpp has these two references to 'thread.h':

You may want to check if you have this file available on your system:
