No, you're right, it does lack S.S.L. I just haven't noticed it before since all the feeds to which I subscribe are rather esoteric or old. For example, all of the B.B.C.\ News feeds (created in 2011) are without S.S.L. [1] It was discussed at [2], but nothing ever happened.
