nvidia-settings has a section for 'Application Profiles'. I've never used it but it might somehow help you if you can identify processes that you want to adjust. >From the GUI help file: "Use this page to configure application profiles for use with the NVIDIA® Linux Graphics Driver. Application profiles are collections of settings that are applied on a per-process basis. When the driver is loaded into the process, it detects various attributes of the running process and determines whether settings should be applied based on these attributes. This mechanism allows users to selectively override driver settings for a particular application without the need to set environment variables on the command line prior to running the application." There's more info online. I have no idea if this would help at all. - Mark
