~ $ sysctl fs.protected_regular sysctl: permission denied on key 'fs.protected_regular' You're right about grep, but not about root. Anyway, I can confirm on kernel 5.15.23 fs.protected_regular is set to 0, while on 5.15.26 is it flipped to 1.
