$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug
/sbin/udevsend

I have added /sbin/udevstart to /etc/conf.d/local.start and it seems 
that /dev/dsp is recreated with the right permissions and the annoying 
message is gone. Not the most elegant solution, but effective.
