I posted this to your other thread, but you either didn't see it or didn't respond. Try "cat /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug". In your case, it should say "/sbin/udevsend". However, we are _assuming_ that the system is starting udev. You should check the first few lines of the system boot to make sure. You should see messages like: Mounting /dev for udev ... ...
