Marco, if you suspect this at all, you can set RC_COLDPLUG=no in /etc/conf.d/rc to completely disable module loading by udev.
actually the variable is set that way with RC_COLDPLUG=no. I've tried with similar USB drives, and the behaviour is the same. I've tried to blacklist again the module usb-uhci that was in the /etc/hotplug/blacklist (now not read anymore) in the /etc/modules/my-aliases file, but the result is the same.
