I wanted to flag another AGU session of potential interest to readers here.
It is entitled "Confronting the Prospects of a 4 C World" and will
hopefully broadly build on the Royal Society series of articles from a few
years ago and other subsequent work around this topic. While not
specifically a geoengineering session we do highlight it as a component of
the discussion. I've included the description and a link to the session
below.

Todd

This session focuses on cross-disciplinary aspects of confronting the risks
of global warming at levels of 4 C and prospects of sub-optimal solutions.
Invited papers include (1) analysis of projected warming trends, taking
account of global climate policy commitments and adoption rates of low
carbon technologies. (2) sources of uncertainty in projecting impacts at
this level, including possible non-linearities in the climate system and
modeling gaps, (3) proposed approaches to managing risks of this level of
warming through, e.g. adaptation measures, reductions in short-lived
climate forcers and geo-engineering schemes and (4) options and challenges
to communicating risks associated with a 4 C world to public and
policymaker audiences.
