Dear Geosoft and Geonetters,

With the advances in computing power and in graphical display technology,
more and more geoscientists are using 3-D images for display and
presentation of their geophysical and geological data. This trend is very
evident in the petroleum industry where geoscientist driven by the seismic
industry are using 3-D images to display their integrated data sets in 3-D
format. It is becoming increasingly important to present Potential field
displays in Net View or 3-D format for the simple reason that Potential
fields has to compete with these other disciplines. Correct me if I am
wrong but the corporate culture now is unfortunately more impressed by
presentation techniques rather than the pure data.

It is thus surprising to me that Geosoft which introduces 3-D Net View in
its DOS based Sushi has yet to integrate this technology into
its more powerful and robust sibling "OASIS MONTAJ". We get a lot of
requests from the clients for 3 D perspective maps, I have been using Net
View to make these 3- D images which now with version 4.3 has become a
separate task. It is my suggestion that the good people at Geosoft think
about it and try to integrate Net View into Montaj.

I hope other geonetters would agree with me and the good people at geosoft
would take this advise seriously.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Mohammed A. Kidwai
