Hello all,
I would like to cast my vote for 3d displays as well. An interactive tool
which allowed the user to move through the image, stack images and play
with the lighting is what is needed. I suspect this would mean a new type
of "object" within OASIS, as a map is the wrong framework for the viewer,
although the results would almost always be presented on a map. I've had
the occasion to use several of these recently and they all stink for one
reason or another, so it's a good opening for Geosoft. ;)
While we're at it, what other enhancements in version 5 are we looking for?
My personal favorites:
1 - some sort of query tool
2 - ability to create custom toolbars
3 - freely distributable map viewer, which would use the "packed" maps
containing all the elements of a map in one file. It should include simple
editing and printing capabilities.
4 - ability to view the same packed maps within Geosoft.
5 - MUCH lower maintenance charges
