While I agree with the comments regarding the importance of 3D imagery for
presentation of potential data I do not think that Geosoft should rush into
the production of new code that will revitalize Net View.

The task of 3D dimensional representation of gridded data is most efficiently
covered by ER Mapper. Geosoft provides for a very simple linkage between Oasis
and ER Mapper. Just as in the previous Net View this permits one to drape one
gridded data set across another surface. We have been draping aeromagnetics
over topography for at least two years now. ER Mapper also allows you to
present multiple surfaces.

A second alternative is Vumate which is freeware produced in the Netherlands.
This is not as powerful as ER Mapper but it is free. All this requires is that
the user produce a grid in Surfer format. This imports directly into Vumate.
Again we have used this routine for mapping lithologic surfaces.

Having said all of that I believe that there is a need for a 3D potential
field representation but I would like to have that keyed to Euler
Deconvolution so that we can get a better feeling for the spatial distribution
of possible solutions.

In this same vein the two pieces of lost Sushi code that I would like to see
re-appear are MagMod and GravMod. If one could tie solutions from these
programs to a 3D model viewing routine then one would have a very powerful
geological interpretation package.
