Hmmm... not sure. Our hudson server running on linux is happy.

My guess is that it might be test configuration and the management of jvm
processes. Are the tests being run via maven? I believe that test won't
pass unless its run in a newly forked jvm process which is what happens
when the tests are run via surefire with maven.
