Wondering if anyone has any hints as to what might be causing this issue:

Even if it's just where in the code I might look for the issue. I looked at
the actual ColorMap generation, and that seems fairly straight forward so
I'm not sure if the problem is there. Otherwise I'm not so sure. My first
thought is that something's not being buffered correctly or something along
those lines, but I wouldn't know where to start.
