Hi,

Can anyone answer some questions related to opengeo and geoserver. I am looking
for responses outside of the the opengeo forum which is why i´m posting here.

I have been using geoserver for a good few months now and love it. I work for a
large authority in germany. I have been using shapefiles until now, but would
like to use postgresql for added performance.

I read about the opengeosuite in which there is the postgresql database already
integrated into the setup but I think this is only for local installations and
not for server environments. The installation of postgresql doesn´t
automatically succeed and pgadmin and the shp2postgis loader only works
locally.
I therefore assume that this installer is only for testing purposes only and
not
for server production environments.

Can anyone confirm this?

I basically just want the postgresql/postgis and geoserver part anyway, so
would
I be better off removing opengeosuite and installing geoserver and postgresql
separately?

Any advice is much needed!!

Thanks,

Robert Buckley
