Hi,
The new extension is mean to supersede the the python specific extension.
It also is mean to be for the most part language agnostic in that it will
support multiple languages including python. It does this my making use of
jsr-223, a standard in java for an interface to scripting languages.
Currently the new scripting extension provides the following spring hooks:
* wps process
* filter
* http invokable scripts
Whereas the python extension includes a bit more. It allows you to plugin
in a simple datastore and as well implement WMS GetMap and WFS GetFeature
output formats. The idea is to port these same hooks to the new extension
as time permits.
